Rosemont

Rosemont is located west of Old Town Alexandria between Taylor Run and Del Ray. Developed in the early 20th century, Rosemont is the city’s oldest planned residential expansion. Like Del Ray, Rosemont was intended to be a “street car suburb.” The plan would have connected the community with Washington, D.C. and Mt. Vernon by electric rail. Instead, the community of Rosemont turned its focus towards its role as a showcase for 20th century home design. In 1992, The Rosemont Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Quality of Life:

Rosemont is closely integrated into the life of Old Town. The community is close to upper King Street, which boasts an array of wonderful bistros, restaurants and boutique shops. There are even hotels for the in-laws. Like their neighbors in Taylor Run, Rosemont residents are close to Shooter’s Hill and the George Washington Masonic National Memorial.
